Hi! I am Mario!
Hi! I am Mario! For more than 20 years I am working as an IT engineer. After my apprenticeship, I entered the IT business as a newcomer. Several years later I passed my B.Sc. and M.A. studies, both with distinction. Since 2018 I am speaking at conferences and I am blogging to share my knowledge with others. As a team leader and cloud architect, I have the opportunity to work with different technologies, within different environments. My motto is: “Imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge is limited”. After all, you can achieve anything if you believe in it.
As a key member of the Austrian leadership team, I'm working alongside the Country Manager and the Delivery Lead to ensure the exchange between the executive management and the technical operations of different projects.
As a project-related Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) team lead I'm responsible for:
accompanying the customers’ teams to understand the customers’ IT landscape
identifying and transforming the customers’ business needs into public and hybrid cloud-based solutions
defining architectural design sessions, implementation projects, IT portfolio transformation plans, deployment guidance as well as workshops
helping Nordcoud's project managers and cloud engineers to understand the customers' needs and support the sales team identify sales blockers to create offers
contributing to consulting projects by working together with our Nordcloud's Cloud Advisors on customer projects, for example in planning cloud business cases, defining cloud strategies, or delivering operating models
I am technically responsible for the central web hosting infrastructure built by my team and me. The infrastructure is fully powered by Open Source software and currently consists of about 600 Linux web servers. For virtualization aspects, we use OpenVZ (container-based OS virtualization), VMWare and nowadays Docker too. Load balancing is handled by multiple Apache httdp and Nginx Docker installations. Furthermore, my team and I handle many IT-driven projects. These projects scale up from small size (2-3 end users) up to large size (25000 end users) projects.
